Hour 2:  How is our accelerating use of the planet’s resources permanently altering the environment? We’ll talk this hour with acclaimed environmental writer Bill McKibben, editor of “The Global Warming Reader: A Century of Writing About Climate Change” (Penguin, 2012).

Hour 1:  What’s changing the gender and earning dynamics in the home and at the office? We’ll find out this hour with journalist and author, and New America Foundation fellow Liza Mundy. Her new book is “The Richer Sex: How the New Majority of Female Breadwinners Is Transforming Sex, Love and Family” (Simon & Schuster, 2012).

Hour 2:  Should the Internet support and empower individuals and human rights or should it exist primarily as an avenue for commerce? Our guest this hour, Rebecca MacKinnon, works on global Internet policy as a Schwartz Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation. Her new book is “Consent of the Networked: The Worldwide Struggle For Internet Freedom” (Basic Books, 2012).

Hour 1:  How has U.S. security policy evolved since 9/11 and what have been the greatest successes and biggest failures along the way? We’ll talk this hour with Aki Peritz, senior national security advisor to the Third Way think tank and co-author of “Find, Fix, Finish: Inside the Counterterrorism Campaigns that Killed bin Laden and Devastated Al Qaeda” (PublicAffairs, 2012).

Hour 2:  Academy Award-winning film portrayals aside, what really happened in the North Atlantic in the early morning of April 15, 1912? We’ll find out this hour with National Geographic Magazine contributor and bestselling author Hampton Sides. His piece “Unseen Titanic” appears in the April issue of the magazine.

Hour 1:  How much does our country spend on military contracts each year and how do the companies that win such contracts further influence that spending? We’ll explore these questions and more with William D. Hartung, director of the Arms and Security Project at the Center for International Policy and author of “Prophets of War: Lockheed Martin and the Making of the Military-Industrial Complex” (Nation Books, 2012), which is now out in paperback.

Hour 2:  What fuels the age-old human obsession, fear, and fascination with sharks? We’ll spend this hour with Juliet Eilperin, environmental reporter for The Washington Post and author of “Demon Fish: Travels Through the Hidden World of Sharks” (Pantheon, 2011). Eilperin will speak at the Dallas Museum of Nature & Science event this evening.
