KERA’S “CEO” FEATURES DR. SANDRA CHAPMAN OF CENTER FOR BRAINHEALTH
General, News Releases May 30, 2013 178DALLAS/FORT WORTH: May 30, 2013 – On the June episode of KERA’s CEO, host Lee Cullum talks with Dr. Sandra Bond Chapman, Founder and Chief Director of the Center for BrainHealth. Dr. Chapman discusses the discoveries being made at the Center regarding the brain’s ability to repair and strengthen itself as well as strategies designed to optimize brain performance. “Multitasking is bad for the brain. When you multitask, it actually adds stress and cortisol, making you more agitated. We’ve learned now that the brain was not wired to do two things at once,” says Chapman. Research-based initiatives – from helping soldiers returning from combat with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to the strategies being brought to the classroom to foster innovative thinking – are also discussed.
KERA’s CEO features insightful discussions with successful North Texas business leaders from the corporate and not-for-profit sectors about what it takes to make a company successful in today’s global marketplace and changing economy. The June episode featuring Dr. Sandra Bond Chapman airs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, on KERA TV with rebroadcasts at noon Sunday, June 23, and at 10:30 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013.
