Gini Mascorro, KXT’s evening host and music coordinator, has been focusing on broadcasting from her home studio during quarantine. In her downtime, she has also been exploring the books that have been sitting dormant on her bookshelf. It’s no surprise that she has multiple books that focus on music, and she’s shared her picks in the new KXT Book Club: Quarantine Edition.

“This new era of social distancing might be the perfect time to dust off your long-forsaken reading list and unearth the hidden gems on your nightstand and overcrowded shelves. Old school escapism might be the prescription for what ails you, once you’ve wrapped up a long day and blazed through your favorite music shows and docs,” Gini says.

Gini’s reading picks include “To Throw Away Unopened,” by Viv Albertine, “Horror Stories,” by Liz Phair and “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah: The Story of Modern Pop,” by music historian and journalist Bob Stanley. She reminds us that thankfully, there’s no shortage of stellar music memoirs, non-fiction, and other music-related reads.
