Echo Theatre brings the audience backstage with a new podcast called Echo Offstage. The podcast drops September 15th wherever you get your podcasts. There will be a total of six episodes airing on the 15th and last day of the month through November.
Echo Offstage is hosted by local actress, storyteller, singer, and TV host, Catherine Whiteman. Each episode will bring people “backstage” into the world of talented women involved in the theater industry. Guests include producers, playwrights, directors, actors, and other creatives.
The first episode features Caridad Svich, an award-winning playwright, translator, songwriter, and educator. Svich was born in the US to Cuban-Argentine-Spanish-Croatian parents.
The second episode, airing on September 30, will highlight Ann Timmons who produced the one-woman show, Off the Wall: The Life and Works of Charlotte Perkins Gilman off-Broadway, and toured it nationally for 16 years.
In 2021, Echo Theatre will host the regional premiere of It’s My Party by Ann Timmons, directed by Carson McCain. This production will tell the stories of women who fought for the right to vote, facing an uphill battle and overcoming all odds.
More information on Echo Offstage and upcoming events can be found on Echo Theatre’s website or on its Facebook or Twitter profiles.
