TITAS/Dance Unbound is bringing art discussions into the homes of hundreds with its new program Virtual Santos Salon, a Facebook Live series designed to bring the arts community together during COVID-19.

Join TITAS/Dance Unbound in its new series Virtual Santos Salon on Sept. 17.

The third salon will be a discussion with leading dance presenters in the U.S., including executive director Linda Shelton of The Joyce Theater in New York City; executive and artistic director Pamela Tatge of America’s longest-running international dance festival Jacob’s Pillow; and co-founder Paul King of White Bird in Portland, which has closed for its 20-21 season from October through May.

Left-to-right: Charles Santos, Linda Shelton, Pamela Tatge and Paul King.

Charles Santos, executive and artistic director of TITAS, will moderate the discussion on Sept. 17 at 5 p.m.

“The discussion will explore the creative and varied solutions these leading dance institutions have found to keep the arts thriving in their communities during the time of COVID,” Santos said.

So far, Santos said the series has been translating well on Facebook. The first episode with Dwight Rhoden, artistic director of Complexions Dance Company in New York, has over 750 views. The two talked about the Complexions piece called Woke, which centers around today’s sociopolitical issues.
