Welcome the merry month of March with one these cool picks from your friends at Art&Seek. If you’re feeling like a lion, take in a Broadway musical. For those of you who are in more of a lamb-like mood, choose an area museum or an intimate gallery.  Outgoing or introspective, there’s something for every taste and mood.

Wednesday

Musician Carl Lenthe is a trombone virtuoso. He has appeared with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony, the Boston Symphony, and others. He’s the guest artist tonight at Voertman Concert Hall in Denton.

Texas author Paulette Jiles will speak tonight at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. She’ll be discussing her historical novel “News of the World” as part of the 2018 Carolyn Brown Literary Series. The book was a National Book Award Finalist in the fiction category.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth welcomes Texas New Music Ensemble tonight. TNME Flutist Meg Griffith will perform contemporary works by Texas composers including the World Premiere of “Miss.Sogyny” by Fort Worth’s Neil Anderson-Himmelspach.

The Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs hosts a final community meeting tonight about the upcoming cultural plan. Share your thoughts, opinions, and dreams for Dallas’ cultural future at the Latino Cultural Center.

Puerto Rican artist Patrick McGrath Muñiz new exhibition “Oblivious” reflects on the role of climate change in recent natural disasters. It’s on view at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center through March 29.

Experimental choral group Verdigris Ensemble sings about the heavens and Apollo 8 astronauts in their new concert Consolation of Apollo. Hear them tonight at St Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano.

If you haven’t gotten around to it yet, take the time this weekend to check out Art&Seek Spotlight Artist Riley Holloway‘s extraordinary photorealistic paintings in the exhibition “The Artists” at Tarrant County College’s Southeast Campus.

On Saturday, KXT 91.7 Presents George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. Clinton, who revolutionized R&B during the ’70s, will perform at House of Blues in the West End and Vickery Park in Dallas.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth hosts a music performance that aims to provide a deeper artistic experience. Don’t miss “Listening In(ward).” Then hang around to see New Works by Ron Mueck that invite you into the private spaces of his life-like sculptures.

Drop by the Addison Theatre Centre this weekend to see innovative and daring performances in Detour: A Festival of New Work. The festival of new plays, presented by WaterTower Theatre, ends on Sunday.

The Dallas Morning News has partnered with the Trinity River Audubon Center for the photo exhibition “Impact: Humans & Birds in Dallas.” Fly over to the Audubon Center to see glimpses of birds’ lives in and around Dallas.

“Take Us To Your Leader” is a new exhibition by Arlington–based artist Billi London-Gray. Make plans to visit the Fort Worth Community Arts Center to see the work that explores systems of power. Presented by the art collective, Art Tooth.

“Motown: The Musical” is the story of how Berry Gordy went from athlete to music mogul. See the Broadway hit tonight at the Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center at the University of Texas at Tyler.

Peruvian artist William Cardova captures everyday experiences with his artwork. Hear his conversation with curators Kate Green and Carter Foster at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
