AT&T Performing Arts Center Opens Applications for Moody Fund Grants
ArtandSeek.net January 12, 2021 13Dallas-based arts groups can start applying for the latest round of grants from the Moody Fund for the Arts.
The Moody Fund provides grants to smaller arts organizations with budgets under $1 million that are supported by the City of Dallas. The 2021 online application submission period will stay open until noon on January 29.
The funding’s made possible through the Galveston-based Moody Foundation, but the AT&T Performing Arts Center administers the grants. They’ll consider a variety of proposals including new works, capacity building projects, and cultural equity initiatives.
AT&T PAC will also take into consideration ongoing challenges due to the pandemic. Arts groups can apply for grants for special projects including virtual programming, programs in unusual spaces, programs aimed at isolated audiences, and new works that might only reach the workshop stage.
Proposals go through a two-level review process from a panel of artists and arts advocates. Typically, applications open in late February, but AT&T PAC moved the submission period up to get grants out to struggling arts groups sooner.
This will be the Moody Fund’s fourth year of grantmaking. Last year, it awarded a record $355,000 to 49 Dallas arts groups grappling with the pandemic. The fund awarded $175,000 in 2019 and $150,000 in 2018.
