Congratulations to Kan He of Stony Brook, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest. This is Kan’s first-time winner of our little contest. He follows last week’s winner, Fabio Bonasera.
If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Tuesday to Monday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Friday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Tuesday.
Title of photo: Northern Light at Mt. Aurora Lodge
Equipment: Canon 6D EF16-35MM f/4l IS USM f/4.0 16mm 5s ISO4000
Tell us more about your photo: This was the second the night I spent in the Mt. Aurora Lodge, when I came back from the coldfoot, the hostess told me that there would be a most active northern light in the recent 11 years this night. I was really excited and set up my tripod and cameras very early as a good preparation. Around midnight of Mar 18, someone came and said amazing northern light was dancing outside, I grabbed my equipment immediately and rushed out. I was so surprised that all sky was covered by this fantastic natural phenomena. I took pictures as many as I can and also switch different angles. That was really an unforgettable experience.
