Kids, The Fort Worth Modern’s Got A Special Sketchbook Tour Of The Museum For You
ArtandSeek.net March 15, 2021 9If you’re looking for a spring break program to attend, soak in the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth’s sketchbook highlighting works in its permanent collection.
During March 15-21, kids can pick up a “Spring Break Wonders” sketchbook at the front desk. The book focuses on 10 works, encouraging participants to make sketches from prompts while walking through the galleries.
This year, given social distancing measures, a QR code is included on each page leads to a short audio clip from a Modern docent. Kids will hear an audio clip about the artist and the artwork.
The sketchbook will feature works from Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Anselm Kiefer, Sol LeWitt, Agnes Martin, Takashi Murakami, Wangechi Mutu, James Rosenquist, Laurie Simmons, Lorna Simpson and Kehinde Wiley.
The museum is normally closed on Mondays, but for spring break it will be open and waive admission on March 15. Face masks or cloth face coverings are required for entry. Visitors are being asked to socially distanced. Cafe Modern is currently closed.
The museum opens at 10 a.m. Admission is always free for ages 17 years and younger; and $16 for ages 18 and older on Tuesdays-Thursdays. Admission is free on Fridays and half-price on Sundays.
