Addison is known for live music, its large fireworks show in July, and its food scene. Many people are longing for a safe way to get back into the world of live entertainment. Addison’s Special Events team has worked to create a place where guests can safely congregate and enjoy live music.
Addison Weekend Drive-In, presented by Oncor, is a free two-weekend event of live music offered in a drive-in environment.
On August 14-15, fans can listen to live music from a diverse collection of popular DFW bands. Attendees will be able to enjoy the shows from the comfort of their vehicles.
“We are excited to invite our guests back to the Addison Circle Park District for live entertainment,” said Addison Director of Special Events Jasmine Lee.
Music will be transmitted via both speaker system and FM radio, providing good audio quality throughout the park. Guests who book an Addison hotel room can enjoy a reserved front row parking space at both the Friday and Saturday night concerts.
These free concerts will be from 8:30 to 10 p.m. and include the following bands:
- August 14: Extended PLAY (top 40)
- August 15: Joseph Veazie (pop, R&B, top 40)
- August 28: Shot of Benatar (Pat Benatar tribute band)
- August 29: Even It Up (Heart tribute band)
There will not be food vendors on-site and attendees are encouraged to support Addison restaurants via dine-in or takeout before the show. Visit Addison has created a dining guide on their website.
Parking for the concerts will open at 7:30 p.m. nightly, and cars will be directed to safe distances. Guests are asked to remain in their cars during the entire performance. Parking at Addison Weekend Drive-In is limited and the event is completely free.
More information on these and upcoming performances can be found at the Visit Addison website or on the Visit Addison Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter profiles.
