ArtandSeek.net August 12, 2020 19The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is re-opening to the public on Thursday, August 13 with new safety protocols in place and limited exhibits on display.
Here is the Museum’s Summer Schedule and pricing:
• Sunday – Wednesday: Closed
• Thursday – Saturday: Open
• 10 AM – 11 AM: Members-only
• 11 AM – 4 PM: Public and Members
• Reduced Admission Cost: Age 5+: $9 | Age 0-4: Free
• Members Admission: Free
Only a few areas of the museum are open in the first phase of re-opening:
- The Innovation Studios with new artifact-based exhibitions like These Animals Are Really Darn Cool and These Wheels Are Wonderous
- The V-DROME Preview Center
- The Oak Room, with socially-distant hands-on activities and live science demos
- Stars Café by Galligaskins
- The Atrium, including Paluxysaurus Jonesi
The Children’s Museum, Noble Planetarium, Omni Theater, Cattle Raisers, Energy Blast, DinoLabs, and DinoDig are currently closed due to COVID-19 but will open at a later date for a touch-free experience.
The museum is implementing several new rules to ensure guest and staff safety. These new protocols include, mask requirements for guests five and older, hand sanitizer stations, the removal of frequently touched objects, regular cleaning of doorknobs and surfaces, timed ticketing to ensure lower occupancy and more. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets online to ensure touchless entry.
