Poetry And Motherhood On The Agenda For Dallas Library’s Next Ladies Who Lunch
ArtandSeek.net May 4, 2021 29In celebration of Mothers Day, the Dallas Public Library will bring together three North Texas women on May 5 to discuss all things motherhood and poetry.
The lunch hour conversation will be spent with Reverend Dr. Irie L. Session and Reverend Winner Laws of The Gathering Womanist Church in Dallas, whose worship addresses social justice, misogyny and LGBTQ+ equality, along with local artist Jennifer Wester.
“They represent motherhood in their own way,” said Brittany Snider of the Dallas Public Library.

The three will each bring or write a poem related to their individual experiences with motherhood, either being a mother to a young or older child or being an aunt.
Guests who join do not have to be a mother. The library encourages those who are also dog moms, cat moms and even plant moms to join.
“It’s meant to be similar to what we used to do pre-pandemic, where we would gather with our friends and have fun and talk,” Snide said.
“Ladies who Lunch” will take place on Zoom at noon. Registration is required.
