Did you rock a boxy blazer with shoulders wider than a Dallas Cowboy’s wide receiver? Was your permed hair a mile high and accessorized with a lace scarf? Did you sport leg warmers even when temperatures soared above 90 degrees? Do you wish you could jump in a DeLorean and go back to 1985 so you could wear all these things again?

She’s Got the Look, thru April 3, 3350 Dallas Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75240, Details

If the answer is yes, then head to Galleria Dallas for She’s Got the Look, a fashion to the max exhibition that will take you back the 1980s with more than 50 looks.

The show is divided into two sections: The main room shines a spotlight on the elegance and extravagance of the decade with party, red carpet, ladies who lunch and Working Girl attire.

The second room is a tribute to club kids and it’s everything from the Madonna-inspired fashions to the painted demin Betsey Johnson miniskirts and mesh that you would have seen in all the dance clubs. There’s also an homage to TONI&GUY and its history at Galleria Dallas that includes a wall of iconic ’80 hairstyle images.

Besides fashion, visitors can also take a trip down Memory Lane with a lot of memorabilia such as items from The Breakfast Club, Care Bears, an even an earring created as part of Madonna’s Lucky Star Tour in 1985.

The free show  was curated by Ken Weber of Martini Consignment. Weber, a vintage fashion expert, who combed some very stylish North Texas closets for the unique items featured in the show.

“We’re very fortunate to have quite a few pieces in the exhibition that have celebrity connections,” said Holly Quartaro, Director of Fashion & Lifestyle at Galleria Dallas. “We have several gowns worn by Joan Collins during Dynasty. One of the first gowns worn by Diahann Carroll when she joined the cast of Dynasty. The purple gown Elizabeth Taylor wore for the launch advertising for her Passion fragrance, and a crown done by Joseff of Hollywood which was worn by Farrah Fawcett.

Quartaro notes even though these fashions are from four decades ago, many of the styles in the show have come back into fashion.

“Jan Strimple, the fashion model, has several pieces in the collection that I think you could walk out in today and look fashionable in.

The show is a real reminder to us that fashion is cyclical. Not only is it shaped by culture, but it shapes culture; and we see those trends reappear time and time again.”

You can catch She’s Got The Look through April 3. It’s on display Tuesdays through Sundays, noon to 6 p.m. at Galleria Dallas. Enter thought the giant  giant boom box located on level 1 next to Sephora.

Galleria Dallas is also partnering with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas to present A Century of Scouting. This exhibition goes decade by decade to highlight the accomplishments of Girl Scouts from the last century. It’s on view through March 31.

All visitors to Galleria Dallas must wear a face covering.
