The Big Deal: Dallas Theater Center’s The Mountaintop
ArtandSeek.net October 21, 2015 47The Broadway hit and Olivier Award-winning drama, “The Mountaintop,” comes to the Dallas Theater Center. The fantastical and irreverent play reimagines the night before Martin Luther King steps out on to the balcony of that infamous Memphis motel in 1968. Penned by a young Columbia graduate, Katori Hall, the critically acclaimed play reveals a more humanized King rather than a civil rights icon. King has just delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech and retires to his Lorraine motel room when he is visited by a mysterious motel maid. Enter for a chance to see the production at the Wyly Theatre on Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
