Back by popular demand, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra announced that the Concert Truck will once again hit the road in our area. The mobile stage allows the company to bring chamber music out into the community in more casual and family-friendly settings.

The outdoor pop-up concerts will be held outdoors at shopping centers, parks, and neighborhoods across the city. The schedule for the pop-up concerts runs from the rest of October through December.

DALLAS, TX (October 21, 2021) – The Dallas Symphony Orchestra welcomes the return of The Concert Truck this October, November and December. The Concert Truck, in partnership with the DSO, will present collaborative community concerts across the city, rolling into iconic Dallas destinations such as NorthPark Center, Klyde Warren Park and the Dallas Zoo. Audiences can enjoy shopping excursions at Central Market or grab a pint at White Rock Ale House while listening to great music. Each concert will be 45-60 minutes long, free to attend and will visit neighborhoods, schools, shopping centers, parks, residential communities and health care settings. The Concert Truck, founded in 2016 by concert pianists Susan Zhang and Nick Luby, is a mobile concert stage that brings classical chamber music directly to communities all over the United States. Zhang, Luby and The Concert Truck’s most recent Dallas residence was in Spring 2021. Since their first visit to Dallas during the 2020 holiday season, The Concert Truck and DSO musicians have provided a way for communities to experience and enjoy over 77 safe performances during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s a joy to welcome back Susan and Nick this season,” said Kim Noltemy, Ross Perot President & CEO of the Dallas Symphony. “They became part of the DSO family last year, even recognizing some familiar faces from location to location. We are thrilled to share their music again this year and continue to build the excitement for music in our communities.”
